Our Ales
The Village Inn is now home to both the Nailsworth Brewery, which opened with the pub in 2006 and the spanking new
Hetty Pegler Brewery.
Drawing from a natural spring under the building itself and using a time-honoured process unchanged since the original Nailsworth Brewery, we brew a variety of regular ales as well as some seasonal variations.
You can also now brew your own at the Hetty Pegler Brewery.
Regular Ales

Indian Summer – IPA (3.8% ABV)
Indian Summer is a traditional IPA and at only 3.6% it will truly quench your thirst. A light and refreshing ale with a smooth fruity taste that gives you the feeling of summer!

The Artist’s Ale (3.9% ABV)
Light in colour, high in taste, this zingy, tangy, thirst-quenching bitter is full of citrus flavours. A refreshingly more-ish session beer.

The Vicar’s Stout (4.5% ABV)
This ale is everything a traditional beer should be: dark, rich, smokey, pleasantly bitter and very comforting.

The Town Crier (4.7% ABV)
A traditional premium ale full of rich and fruity flavours, this one is to be savoured and not rushed.

Alestock (3.6% ABV)
Originally brewed for the Nailstock Music Festival, this brew proved too popular for a one-off and so has become a regular. More hoppy than a caffeine-fueled bunny on a bouncy castle, it is the perfect year-round ale.

Old Rocky (4.4% ABV)
CAMRA’s ‘Champion Beer of Gloucestershire, 2009′ is named after our very own Michael ‘Rocky’ Holbrow. With as much ‘grapefruitiness’ flavour as we could squeeze into a pint glass, it’s the perfect beer to accompany breakfast…
Seasonal Ales
Brewed to perfection for special occasions…

Admiral’s Ale (4.7% )
A strong, dark coloured malty ale, with hints of chocolate and roasted aftertaste you will be sure to come back for more!

The Dudbridge Donkey (3.6% ABV)
This mild beer has a taste that reaches back to the halcyon days of yesteryear, when local poet W.H.Davies was ‘standing and staring’ and days when a steam engine (affectionately known as The Dudbridge Donkey) chugged lazily along the valley between Dudbridge and Nailsworth.

Winter Woolley (4.9% ABV)
It’s rich and delicious, dark & fruity, a Waitrose mince pie in a glass!

Large Blue Beer (4.1% ABV)
Less hoppy than Artist’s but not as malty as Mayor’s. Not middle of the road, just a perfect halfway house.

Funny Bones (4.5% ABV)
Dark & smokey, but don’t be scared!
